Established in 1985, The Broadway Bach Ensemble is a 45-piece community chamber orchestra made up of dedicated musicians from many professions who, quite simply, like to make and perform great music together. Our members take their playing seriously. Quite a few have played professionally, and most actively study and are coached in chamber music.
We perform three concerts a year in New York City – a fall concert in October, a winter concert in February, and a spring concert in May. Our twenty-first season began on October 30, 2005!
Our programs are varied and diverse, spanning the 17th through 20th centuries. For samples of past concert programs, see our past programs page.
We have a eight-person Board of Directors that manages the orchestra. Besides deciding on concert dates, programs and policy – and working on concert production – each of our board members also has specific functions and responsibilities. They are:
Nancy Dunetz, string coordinator, mailing list
Norma Kerlin, wind coordinator
Jack Levy, finance
Rob Miller, church relations
Mike Tietz, music director
Tom McGee, webmaster
Steve Loffredo
Our Officers are:
Rob Ruckman, President
Nancy Dunetz, Secretary
Jack Levy, Treasurer
Special thanks also to:
Jonathan Gordon, Program
