2014-2015 Season
Guest Conductor Chris Hisey returns this October with music by Strauss and Shostakovich. Winter brings music of Mozart, Bartok and Dvorak with music director Michael Tietz and guest viola soloist William Frampton. The spring concert features more Mozart, plus Delibes and Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto with guest soloist Abraham Appleman.

Our 2009-2010 season was highlighted by our joint concert with the New Amsterdam Singers, an upper west side institution which we share a performance space with. Also, old friend Maxine Neuman joined us again for a performance of the Lalo concerto, and Guerguan Tsenov made his first appearance as guest conductor.

The 2006-2007 season featured several special programs, including a Halloween concert, an all-Brahms program and a fully staged production of Mozart’s “The Impresario.”

African Suite
Coleridge-Taylor sought to draw from traditional African music and integrate it into the classical tradition, which he considered Johannes Brahms to have done with Hungarian music and Antonín Dvořák with Bohemian music. Read more →
